Hello, I'm Alice

A personal AI assistant for everyday life and work.

Get the help you need, without giving up control of the things that matter to you.

Ask Alice to write, explain, research, plan, translate, search the web, work through a document or simply help you think.

Use text or voice. Ask naturally. Alice is built to help with the things you actually do, not to make you learn how to use AI.

Free plan. No sign-up required to try Alice. 20 free messages a day when you sign up; for adults 18 and over.

About 30 seconds. Two voices to choose from, both made on Alice's own computers.

Live demonstration

Try Alice for free. No sign-up needed.

Don't take our word for it. Ask Alice something. Try a question about your work. Ask her to explain something. Give her a piece of writing to improve. Or simply start a conversation.

Ask Alice something.

Alice is an AI assistant, not a person — its answers can be wrong, so check anything important. Ask anything: one free question a day, and chats aren't saved.

Try asking:

What can Alice actually do?

One assistant. A lot of everyday work.

Speak your language
Alice includes Nigerian Pidgin support and continues to develop language tools for people who don't always want to communicate in standard English.

Got a text you're not sure about? Check it for scam signs (free, no sign-up, it stays on your device). Prefer Naija Pidgin? Chat with Alice Pidgin.

The big idea

You don't need bigger or the best. You need what is necessary.

Most people don't need an AI that can do everything imaginable.

They need something that can help with their work. Their questions. Their writing. Their business. Their plans. Their everyday life.

Alice is built around that idea.

Useful technology doesn't have to become complicated technology. And you shouldn't have to give up control just because you want some help.

Why Alice?

Alice was built around a simple idea:

AI should assist people, not make people surrender themselves to it.

  • Private by designYour conversations aren't kept on our side as a normal chat history. Your history stays on your device.
  • You stay in controlAlice is an assistant. You decide what to ask, what to use and what to do with the answer.
  • Built for everyday peopleYou don't need to understand models, harnesses, infrastructure or AI jargon. Alice handles the complexity.
  • Useful without being excessiveYou don't have to buy the most powerful AI available to get useful help with ordinary work and life.
  • A real team is behind itThere are real people building Alice, testing her and listening to the people who use her.
  • Built with careWhen something matters, we want Alice to be careful rather than confidently wrong. Safety-sensitive topics use additional checks and verified contacts where appropriate.
How Alice works

What's actually happening when you talk to Alice?

Alice isn't magic. And we don't want you to take our word for what happens to your conversations. Here's the simple version.

  1. 1You ask Alice something.
  2. 2Your request is sent securely to Alice.
  3. 3The appropriate AI model processes it.
  4. 4Alice sends the response back to you.
  5. 5Your conversation history remains under your control rather than becoming a normal chat history stored on our servers.

Alice runs models on hardware operated by us in Dorset, UK.

We use different models for different jobs rather than pretending one model has to do everything.

And where Alice needs current information, she can now search the web.

Safety

We don't pretend Alice is perfect.

No one can honestly promise that an AI is always safe or always right. What we can do is build safeguards around the moments where mistakes matter.

  • Safety-sensitive questionsAlice uses additional checks for areas such as health, domestic abuse and suicide risk.
  • Verified contactsWhere a helpline or emergency contact is needed, Alice uses verified contact information rather than simply asking the model to invent a number.
  • ModerationAlice's safety systems check what comes in and what goes out.
  • Tell you when something is uncertainWe'd rather acknowledge a limitation than hide it behind confident language. And one tap on Check on the web checks an answer against current sources.

AI is powerful. That is exactly why it needs limits.

The limits

Alice can't do everything. And that's deliberate.

Alice is still being built. Depending on the model and feature you're using, there are things she may not do as well as the largest AI systems.

She may be weaker on particularly difficult reasoning, very long or specialist tasks, and some advanced use cases. Some features are still developing.

And when Alice doesn't know something, she can be wrong. That's why we don't promise perfection.

We promise that we're building carefully, testing what we can, and being honest about what Alice can and cannot do.

Privacy and control

Your conversations are yours.

When you talk to an AI, you are often giving it pieces of your life. A question about your business. An unfinished idea. A private message. A document. A problem you're trying to solve.

We think you should be able to get help without automatically turning those conversations into a permanent record somewhere else.

Alice is designed so that normal conversation content isn't stored in our database as a chat history. Your history stays on your device.

That's not an afterthought. It's part of how Alice was built.

The one exception is Deep Work, which runs while you're away: its brief and result are held with your account for 1 week after the job finishes, then wiped.

Why a personal assistant?

Technology should make your life easier. Not make you smaller.

  • You don't need to become an AI expert.
  • You don't need to understand which model is best.
  • You don't need to learn complicated prompts.
  • You don't need to understand how the machinery works.

That's our job.

You just need to tell Alice what you need. Ask naturally. Think out loud. Use your voice. Write. Ask questions. Get help. That's what an assistant is for.

For people

For your everyday life.

Alice can help you write the difficult message, understand the confusing document, plan the month, research something, learn something new, organise your thoughts or simply think through a problem.

Alice is an AI assistant, not a person. AI output can be wrong, so always check anything important. You never need to share bills, bank statements or account numbers with Alice, and she is not a doctor: for health worries, talk to a doctor, pharmacist or your local health service.
